Day One

Pick up 0830hrs from Muscat hotel drive through the Samail gap first stop is Birkat Al Mawz Old village, where you can walk around the old houses also see the falaj katameen which is UNESCO site. Next we drive up to the roof of Oman, the Saiq plateau which for hundreds of years was accessible only on donkeys. The weather up there is cool and refreshing. The sight of the terraced gardens is worth beholding. Visit the villages of Aqur, Al Ayn and Wadi Bani Habib. You will see a variety of fruits like walnuts, apricots, pomergranates and lemon grown here. Enjoy a pleasant hike through the villages.

After we proceed to Bahla with the Hugh loam fort, more notably, Bahla has been placed in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites for its cultural antiquity. Bahla is known as the Pottery capital of Oman. A short drive from here lies Jabreen castle, one of the magnificent forts of Oman famous for it's decorative painting on the ceilings. Overnight at Nizwa hotel.

Day two

After breakfast drive to Wadi the interior via desert area, first stop  the Wahiba sands desert also visit a Bedouin settlements. After we continue to Sur the old East African Port, visit the Show making yard. After dinner visit the beach to observe the nesting habits of the green turtles. Overnight at Sur hotel.

Day three

After breakfast we depart Sur down the eastern coast to Wadi Shab, where you can take a hike up one of Oman's scenic Wadis. At the end of the hike is a swim through a famous keyhole into the secluded world of thrilling fantasy. Further on is the white sandy beach in Fins village. Next stop Bammah Sinkhole, a geological feature and a scenic wonder. After a day of adventure we return to Muscat.

Day Three

After breakfast drive to Sur to join the Eastern coast route first stop the white sandy beach in Fins village. Next stopp Bimah Sinkhole, a geological feature and a scenic wonder. After a dayday of adventure we return to Muscat.

Day one

0830am Pickup from Muscat hotel ND proceed  on a journey to Sur, the Old African port where dhows are made by hands. The Coastal road to Sur is beautiful with a lot of sightseeing options enroute.

Your first stop " Wadi Dayqah Dam" 19 kms inland later continue off road for 25 kms on route, you will see a few "Mushroom rocks" a naturally occurring rock format on whose shape, resembles a mushroom. On reaching " Wadi Al Arbiyeen" where you will find a pool of crystal clear intense turquoise blue waters, which are cool and inviting for a swim.

From here, we rejoin the Coastal road with a photo stop at Bimmah Sinkhole which is a geological formation of the karts topography and a scenic wonder. Then continue to Finns beach for a short walk on the beach. You will then head towards Wadi Tiwi, another spectacularly deep and narrow  gorge carved out of the mountains, running between towering cliffs right down to the sea.

Thereafter, proceed to Sur hotel and check in. At about 1900 hrs drive to Ras Al jinz  famous turtle beach to watch Turtles and their nesting habits. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day two 

0830am After breakfast you leave from the hotel and visit the dhow yard, where dhows are traditionally made by bare hands.

Next stop Wadi Bani Khalid the magnificent Wadi to spend a leisurely day. The pools are cool, deep and absolutely stunning, surrounded  by Palm  trees and vast, orangey -red rocky outcrops and the silky water perfect for a long swim.

Thereafter, drive to the undulating golden sands, the great Wahiba Sands are longitudinal dunes 200 km long and 100 km wide running south fromthe eastern Hajar mountains to the Arabian sea. This is a traditional home for the Bedouin, hardy spirited people who know how to survive in these harsh desert conditions. A visit to a Bedouins settlement.

From here, drive further inside the magnificent  desert and check in to your camp, experience  an amazing sunset over the  top high dunes.

0830am After breakfast we head out for full day heritage tour. First we visit Nizwa Souq, built in traditional style, you will find exquisite silver jewellery, intricately handmade "khanjar" means daggers, copper and other handicrafts.

We than visit Jabreen castle, built in the 17th century and originally designed as a residence,it's one of the most beautiful of Oman with it's painter ceiling, dungeons and hidden passages. 

After a short drive we reach Bahla known for its rich tradition of pottery and weaving. You visit Bahla fort (photo stop), one of the oldest in Oman listed in the UNESCO world heritage for its cultural antiquity.

Thereafter you proceed to the Grand canyon check in to mountain resort for overnight.

0830am After breakfast, 3 hours soft trekking at the canyon balcony walk W6 route. Next you visit Misfat Al Abriyeen a picturesque village strapped on to the side of a mountain. As you walk around this beautiful village where time has come to a standstill, you will be moved by the simplicity and friendliness of the people. Shaded by lemon trees, little streets wind upwards to the different level of houses, like caves carved out of the rock, with spiral staircases leading to the terraces. Drive through the Old Al Hamra with a short walk in the Old houses, believed to be the oldest village in Oman.

Return to Muscat late afternoon and drop off at your hotel/airport.

Meet your private guide at the hotel in Muscat, and then hop aboard your air-conditioned Car to discover the city’s delights. Pass the city’s imposing foreign embassy buildings while traveling to the Grand Mosque – an ornate place of worship that was given to the nation by the ruling Sultan Qaboos on the 30th year of his reign. Head inside to learn about the mosque’s Islamic architecture and marvel at the richly decadent interiors, complete with Persian carpets and gilded walls.

After exploring the mosque return to your minibus and travel to Muttrah, the quarter where most of Muscat’s top attractions are found. Visit Muttrah Fish Market, a colourfully chaotic Arabic market, and then stroll along the corniche, a scenic area lined with attractive mosques and latticed merchant houses. 

Head inside Muttrah Souk and discover a dazzling selection of stalls hawking Omani handicrafts and silverware. Get tips for successful haggling, and then browse the market’s wares for keepsakes to take home. Step back inside your minibus and travel to Muscat Old Town to explore on foot. The handsome gated neighborhood is home to the diwan (ruler’s office) as well as several Portuguese fortresses. Pass two magnificent ones – Al-Jalali Fort and Al-Mirani Fort – and admire the opulence of Sultan’s Palace (Qasr Al Alam) – the palace of Sultan Qaboos.

Finally, visit Bait Al Zubair Museum to learn about Omani heritage and history, seeing an expansive display of traditional handicrafts, photos and other artifacts. Return to your hotel.

 Day 1: ARRIVAL IN OMAN  

Depart from country of residence and arrive in Muscat, the capital of Oman. we spend the morning visiting the spectacular Grand Mosque, famous for its Islamic architecture, richly decorated interior and the second largest Persian carpet in the world  and transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Day 2: MUSCAT - JABAL SHAMS 

After being picked up from the hotel, Following this, we leave Muscat in 4WD and enter the mountainous Hajar range, via off road dirt tracks, weaving up canyons and through small villages via Wadi Bani Awf. After a picnic lunch we continue onwards to the oasis of Al Hamra, with its fascinating and unspoiled houses built of dried mud and stone. We then reach Jebel Shams, the highest point in the Arabian Peninsula, where we spend the night at Jabal Shams resort close to the summit.

Day 3: JABAL SHAMS - NIZWA - WAHIBA DESERT 

We begin day 3 at Nizwa, the Pearl of Islam. The local suq offers a diverse range of traditional products, including incense, ceramics, local knives (known as Kanjars) and locally made silver jewellery, while the Nizwa Fort is one of the most iconic in the Sultanate. In the late morning we leave Nizwa, stopping to have lunch in a local restaurant, before leaving the asphalt and entering the yellow and orange sand dunes of Sharqiyah Sands. The evening is spent in a camp (hotel), providing an authentic experience of desert life.

Day 4: WAHIBA DESERT

Day 4 marks the first real day of the Sharqiyah Sands traverse. We continue onwards, with the possibility of getting stuck in the sand at various points. The dunes become even larger and their pink-orange hues are truly mesmerizing. We enjoy a picnic lunch in the afternoon before finding a suitable location to set up camp. The sun set is enjoyed at the top of the dunes, one of the most fascinating moments the desert has to offer.

Day 5: WAHIBA DESERT – AL KHALUF BAY  

We continue crossing the desert, passing several locations where there is a high possibility of encountering nomadic encampments of the Bedouins living in the Sharqiyah Sands. Eventually, we arrive at the deserted coast, bordering the Indian Ocean. The unspoiled white sands, traditional fishing boats make this a particularly picturesque spot, which proceed Al Khaluf. We spend the night camping in the white sand dunes that lead into the ocean.

Day 6: AL KHALUF BAY – RAS AL HADD 

Day 6 begins with the possibility of a swim in the azure coloured ocean, before we continue driving along the coast. We stop for a picnic lunch on the beach and in the afternoon reach Ras Al Hadd, the Eastern most point of the Arabian Peninsula. The  resort we stay at is situated on the beach, and there is an opportunity to see sea turtles depositing eggs in the evening. After dinner we will visit the Ras Al Jinz Nature Reserve and, depending on the time of year, will be able to see turtles laying eggs, baby turtles and a diverse selection of adult turtles right on the beach.

Day 7: RAS AL HADD - SUR - WADI TIWI 

We begin day seven by continuing towards the city of Sur, where we explore the building docks of the Arabic Dhows, one of the few places left in the region where traditional techniques are still utilised.

After that, we wind our way in a Northern direction along the coast, making a stop to view the ancient ruins of the city of Qalhat, before reaching Wadi Tiwi. Famous of its imposing canyon-like walls of rock, this Wadi contains picturesque traditional villages, farm terraces and pools of crystal clear water. Overnight at Muscat hotel.

Day 8:  MUSCAT – FLY HOME

 After a free and relaxing mornig,  we continue till arriving at Muscat, where we explore the old area of Muscat, containing the forts Al Jalali and Al Mirani, and the Sultan’s Palace (Al Alam Palace), before continuing on to the Mutrah suq. The winding alleyways contain all sorts of local products, including spices, incense, pashminas, wood products and jewellery, and makes for the perfect place to purchase local items. After dinner in a local restaurant, we head to the airport where clients get a flight back to their country of residence.

After breakfast drive down to Nizwa Souq the Old Capital of Oman, Nizwa known for its silver souq and  the big round Fort built during the period of the Yaruba Dynasty.   first stop Wadi Bani Khalid with its endless date palms and crystal clear pools, you may hike or swim in the inviting pools. Next visit the Wahiba sands desert also visit a Bedouin settlements. After drive in the desert to our overnight Camp.

Day five

After breakfast drive deeper in the desert crossing  to the eastern coast making our way for the ferry to Masira island overnight at Masirah Island resort.

Day six

At leasure or late start drive round the Island about 130 kms overnight at Masirah Island Resort.

Day seven

After breakfast drive to the ferry cross then continue with a long 4 hrs drive along  the coast line to Ras Al Jinz scientific center our overnight stay, 2030 hrs a tour to see turtle nesting on the beach.

Day eight

After breakfast drive towards Sur visit the traditional Dhow making place, continue to Wadi Shab. Next a walk at Fins beach then visit bammah Sinkhole. From here to Muscat .

Day nine

0900 hrs Proceed on a morning tour of the city. 

Muscat offers the visitor a unique opportunity to witness a modern commercial centre existing in harmony with its traditional culture. With its natural harbour, Muscat means "Anchorage" & lies in a natural volcanic bowl. Our tour of the Grand Mosque (except Friday) & Bait Al Zubair Museum (except Friday) is a brief introduction that traces Oman's history and development. Drive along the waterfront Corniche visiting the Fish Market & the colourful Muttrah Souq. We proceed for a photostop to the magnificent Al Alam Palace, official palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos flanked by the 16th century Portugese forts Mirani & Jalali. (Dress code : Ladies fully covered and to carry a head scarf , men in trousers)

Day 03

0800 hrs This morning we embark on an exciting 4wd journey through the mountains. Our first stop is the hot springs at Nakhl . We then drive through the spectacular Wadi Bani Auf . This stretch of graded road is very adventurous & for the physically fit only as it involves steep bends and bumpy roads. Stop at the quaint mountain village of Bilad Sayt framed by the dramatic mountains. The route winds through mountains all the way unto the village of Al Hamra characterized by its mud houses and date plantations, Proceed to visit the Jabrin Palace where the visitor is able to capture the medieval atmosphere and view the beautiful handpainted ceilings and carved door frames. 

Overnight stay at  Nizwa hotel. 

Day 04

Breakfast

This morning we visit the imposing Roundtower Fort . The neighbouring Souk is an interesting shopping venue with its intricately handcrafted silver jewellery and khanjars. From here we proceed towards Izki and Sinaw. Take a turn off the main road to the scenic Wadi Bani Khalid with its deep blue pools of water fringed by the date palms which is an ideal spot to relax or enjoy a refreshing swim. We then drive to the Wahiba sands which consists of undulating sand dunes of different hues.. Enjoy the spectacle of the sun setting over the dunes. 

Dinner and Overnight stay in Bedouin tents at the desert camp.

Day 05

After breakfast drive deeper in the desert crossing  to the eastern coast making our way for the ferry to Masira island overnight at Masirah Island resort.

Day 06

At leasure or late start drive round the Island about 130 kms overnight at Masirah Island Resort.

Day 07

Breakfast at the camp site. Proceed this morning to Sur , a seafaring town . Visit the dhow factory before taking the highway for Muscat. A Photostop at Bibi Miriam's tomb and the Bimah Sinkhole. Explore the beautiful Wadi Arbayeen which can only be accessed after an exciting drive through the mountains. Proceed to Muscat via Quriyat and check in to a hotel.

Day 08

Transfer from Muscat hotel for your flight to Khasab . Arrive in Khasab. 

Depart for a city tour to view the Khasab Fort and the prehistorical rock paintings at Wadi Tawi. In the afternoon proceed on a half day mountain safari in a 4WD. Drive to Jebel Harim which is the highest mountain in Musandam (2087M). Enroute stop at 'Sayh' village, located at 1100 M above sea level. From the Khawr Al Najid view the splendid coastline spread with turquoise blue waters lapping the shores. Proceed to visit Birkhat Khalidiya Park with it's acacia trees, which remain green through out the year.

Breakfast 

Transfer to Khasab Port for a full day dhow cruise to the spectacular fjords of Musandam exploring small fishing villages and the famous telegraphic island with a possibility to view dolphins.( Lunch served on board ) . Swimming and snorkeling possible on this cruise. 

Cruise back to Khasab Return to the Golden Tulip Khasab hotel. 

Day 10

Breakfast

Transfer to Khasab Airport to board the flight to MCT. Arrive in Muscat and in transit until the flight to Salalah. 

Arrive in Salalah and transfer to the hotel.

Day 11

0900 Hrs Visit the fishing village of Taqa, an old town with an interesting castle surrounded by watchtowers and Taqa stone houses. Proceed onward to Khor Rori creek, the site of the ruined city of Samhuram and capital of ancient Arabia's frankincense trade. Excavations have produced evidence of an ancient city with trade links by sea to Far Eastern destinations and with even distant Greece. Mirbat, the ancient capital of Dhofar, was an important town as early as the 9th century for it's trade in frankincense, horses and slaves. See some of the old houses famous for its woodcarvings. If lucky see boatloads of fish arriving into the harbor. One of Dhofar's best-known historic sites is Bin Ali's Tomb. The twin domed structure; tomb of Mohamed bin Ali who died in 1135 AD is a fine example of medieval architecture. 

1430 Hrs Visit the Biblical "Nabi Ayoub" Prophet Job's Tomb, perched high up in the "Jebels" (mountains). Enroute are spectacular views of the plains, mountain landscape and emerald green pastureland. Proceed to Mughsail Beach where "Blow-holes"- (perforations in the limestone rock) through which sea water gushes during high tide. Experience the Hairpin Bend Roads for approximately 15/20 kms, which will take you to a wadi. The views are breathtaking due to heights involved. This is the road that takes you to the Yemen border. At the nearby bird sanctuary, one may see seasonal birds. Enroute, the stark shape of leafless Frankincense Trees dot the landscape. Once traded as a commodity more precious than gold, frankincense harvested in Dhofar is rated the best in the world.

Breakfast 

Departure transfer to Salalah Airport for your flight to Muscat. Arrive in Muscat and in transit until your international flight.
